Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision
Following the takeover of Vallourec Précision Etirage (VPE), France, by the Salzgitter AG, the new European market leader of seamless and welded-drawn precision tubes has been founded under the name of Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision GmbH. Under the new name Salzgitter Mannesmann Précision Etirage the company produces cold-drawn seamless and welded steel tubes in five plants in France and complements the existing activities of the Salzgitter Group in the precision business in an ideal way. In Germany, Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision produces cold-drawn precision steel tubes in the four mills of Salzgitter Mannesmann Präzisrohr (formerly MHP). Additionally Salzgitter Mannesmann Precisión operates one mill in Mexico.

Group structure

To secure the extensive independence of the precision group of the supply of seamless tubes as a pre-material, part of the transaction also includes the takeover of a mill for hot-rolled seamless tubes in Zeithain (Saxony) from the Vallourec-Group. This activity is now part of Salzgitter Mannesmann Rohr Sachsen.
