Hydraulic cylinders are used in almost all stationary and mobile machinery and
equipment.

They allow defined movements within the machine, often under substantial mechanical loads. Therefore particular attention needs to be given to safety-related aspects when considering the requirements for hydraulic cylinders - in particular when these machines are used in the direct vicinity of people. In this direction, Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision GmbH has worked out corresponding design principles in cooperation with its customers.
